How to Join Troop 989
Welcome!
You are joining a troop with a proud history that goes back over 30 years. Over that time, the troop has witnessed 118 Eagles take flight with the eagle badge proudly worn on their uniform. Your son will join a very active troop. He may be setting up a tent for the first time in a few weeks, but it won't be long before you are hearing him tell stories about camping in the high desert of New Mexico, canoeing in northern Minnesota or even sailing in the Caribbean, while creating life-long memories and friendships along the way.
To become a Scout, you must meet one of the following:
-
Be at least 11 years old, but less than 18
-
Have completed the 5th grade
-
Have earned the Arrow of Light award in Cub Scouts
A completed BSA Application and Medical forms parts A and B are required before any scout or adult can participate in Troop 989 activities as a member. Adult members must also complete the Youth Protection Training and furnish a copy of the certificate to the troop. Prior to joining, some activities allow for visitors to attend. Visit a meeting to learn more.
